The broad objective of Crossing Borders is to increase the possibilities for a just and lasting world peace with special focus on conflict zones. Toward this end, Crossing Borders provides impartial dialogue space and skills training in intercultural communication, conflict management and media for the empowerment of youth, educators and media people to become full players in present and future development process of their societies.
 

Target Group

The primary target groups of Crossing Borders are
 

• youth who want to make a positive difference in their life and surroundings
• young journalists and media students who want to develop and apply culture, conflict and gender sensitive media attitudes and skills in their media work
• educators and social science teachers who are interested in developing their intercultural competences to share and transfer diversity values to their pupils/students, institutions and communities.

Criteria for participation

The criteria for selection of the participants is based on expressed interest in current global issues such as intercultural understanding, conflict management  and culture sensitive media skills. The other key criteria for selection is the interest in learning to live together with fellow participants from other bacgrounds on equal terms.
